Why choose a classic mosaic table lamp

The classic shape is the simplest we make: a globe of hand-cut glass sitting on a small brass base, and nothing else. With no arm or neck, the whole lamp is the globe, and it fits where other lamps will not, from a narrow bedside table to a desk or a bookshelf. Size for size, it is also lower than the swan neck: 33 to 37 cm tall, against 37 to 43 cm.

Each globe is made by hand in Türkiye from 300+ pieces of natural glass and beads. Artisans cut the glass into diamonds and triangles, set every piece by hand, grout and polish the globe, then mount it on a hand-aged antique brass base. The glass is never dyed, painted or plastic, which is why the colour glows softly rather than looking flat, and because the pattern is set by hand, the exact design in the photos can never be repeated.

Choosing your classic lamp

All three sizes keep the same simple shape.

• Small: 10 cm globe, 33 cm tall, on a 10 cm base: the smallest footprint in our range.
• Medium: 12.5 cm globe, 35 cm tall, on a 12.5 cm base.
• Large: 15 cm globe, 37 cm tall, still on a compact 12.5 cm base, so you get the biggest globe without a bigger footprint.

Where a classic lamp looks best

On a desk, it works as a Turkish desk lamp that leaves room for everything else. On a narrow bedside table, a small classic lamp gives you light without crowding the surface. On a bookshelf, a hallway table or a windowsill, it adds a point of colour that draws the eye. Classic lamps also look good in groups: three in different colours along a shelf or a café counter read as a single display, and in a yoga studio or lounge they set a calm mood.

Bulb, safety and care

The classic lamp takes an E14 bulb, and an E14 LED bulb is already in the box, so you can unpack it, plug it in and switch it on. LED runs efficiently and at a low heat, which helps protect the hand-set glass. Every classic lamp is CE certified, with UK Type G, EU Schuko Type F and US Type A plug options.
