Why choose a handmade Turkish mosaic table lamp

A Turkish mosaic table lamp is made the slow way. In our workshop in Türkiye, artisans hand-cut natural glass into small diamonds and triangles, set each piece and bead on the globe by hand, then grout and polish it before mounting it on hand-aged antique brass. Every globe holds 300+ hand-cut glass pieces and beads, so no two lamps are alike and the pattern in the photos can never be repeated exactly.

The glass is natural, never dyed, painted or plastic, so the light that comes through it is soft and rich. Switched on, the lamp throws coloured patterns across the wall behind it, which makes it as much a piece of decoration as a light. You may see this style called a Moroccan lamp; ours are handmade in Türkiye from start to finish.

How to choose your table lamp

Start with the shape, then the globe size, then the colour.

• Swan neck: the globe hangs free from a curved brass neck and throws its pattern onto the surfaces around it. Heights run from 37 cm (small) to 43 cm (large). Browse the swan neck table lamps.
• Classic: the globe sits on a compact brass base, 33 cm tall in the small size and 37 cm in the large, which suits narrow bedside tables and shelves. See the classic table lamps.
• Globe size: small globes are 10 cm across, medium 12.5 cm and large 15 cm. Small suits a bedside table or shelf, medium works in most living spaces and large makes a centrepiece. The small globes page gathers the most compact lamps.
• Colour: amber glass gives a warm, golden glow, blue casts cooler, calmer tones and multicoloured glass throws every colour at once.

Where a mosaic table lamp looks best

A bedside table is the natural home for one, and a matching pair either side of a bed gives the room a calm symmetry. A swan neck lamp on a living room console or sideboard puts the glow right beside you when you sit down in the evening. A classic lamp fits a desk in a study, a shelf in a reading nook or a narrow hallway table. In cafés, salons and boutique hotels, a few lamps along a counter or window ledge turn light into decoration.

Bulb, safety and care

Every table lamp takes an E14 bulb, and an E14 LED bulb is in the box, so the lamp is ready to use the day it arrives. LED runs efficiently with a low-heat glow that helps protect the hand-set mosaic. Each lamp comes wired with a plug, with UK Type G, EU and US options, and is CE certified.

To clean it, switch off and unplug, then dust the globe and brass with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners and excess moisture. Orders placed before 3pm get free next-day UK delivery, with 30-day returns on eligible items.
