Who We Are
Founded in 2017, we have spent nearly a decade building something we are genuinely proud of — a collection of authentic Turkish mosaic lamps that are made the right way, using real hand-cut coloured glass, solid brass frames, and traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations of Turkish artisans.
We are not a marketplace. We are not a dropshipper. We are a specialist lighting brand, and every lamp in our collection comes directly from our own workshop in Turkey.
Why We Started
When our founders first encountered Turkish mosaic lamps, they were struck by something that photographs simply cannot capture — the way real coloured glass transforms a room when light passes through it. The kaleidoscope of colours on the walls. The warmth. The atmosphere.
Then they noticed a problem. The UK market was flooded with cheap imitations — lamps made with painted glass or plastic that looked promising in photos but faded quickly, glowed dully, and felt nothing like the genuine article.
Angora Mosaics was founded to change that. To make it easy for UK customers to buy the real thing — authentic, handcrafted Turkish mosaic lamps — with the reliability and speed of a UK-based business.
Handcrafted in Turkey. The Real Way.
Every Angora Mosaics lamp begins in our workshop in Turkey, where our skilled artisans hand-cut individual pieces of genuine coloured glass and apply them one by one to a hand-blown glass globe. No shortcuts. No machines. No painted glass.
The process is time-consuming by design. A single lamp can take several hours to complete. Each glass piece is carefully selected for colour and clarity, placed by hand, and set into position with precision. The result is a lamp that is entirely unique — because when everything is made by hand, no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
The brass frames are cast and finished by hand. The electrical components meet UK and EU safety standards. And every lamp is inspected before it leaves our workshop.
This is not mass production. This is craft.
