Why choose a green mosaic lamp
Green is often thought of as a cool colour, but green mosaic glass glows warmer than you might expect. Lit, a green mosaic lamp casts a rich emerald light across the walls, and some designs add golden or amber reflections, so the effect is closer to sunlight through leaves than to a cold, green wash.
In Türkiye, artisans hand-cut the green glass into small shapes, set each piece and bead by hand, then grout and polish the globe before mounting it on hand-aged antique brass. Green glass and antique brass make a natural pairing, and because every piece is placed by hand, the exact pattern in the photos will never be repeated. Every green lamp is switched on and checked before it is packed.
How to choose a green lamp
Choose the pattern first, then the style.
- Pattern: plain green designs give an even emerald glow; green star designs set a star motif into the glass; emerald green designs give a deep, jewel-toned glow; and green and white designs add crisp white highlights.
- Style: green comes as swan neck and classic mosaic table lamps, pendants and wall sconces, with the occasional chandelier or floor lamp for a statement.
- Size: green designs come with a large 15 cm globe, the size that shows the most glass. On that globe, a swan neck lamp stands 43 cm tall and a classic lamp 37 cm, while a wall sconce measures 35 cm and a pendant hangs 59 cm high. Browse every size and colour in large globes.
Where green looks best
Green glass is at home among plants. In a sun room or a living room full of greenery, a green lamp carries the colour of the leaves into the evening. It suits a study or a reading nook, where its deep tones feel focused and calm, and a bedroom, where the emerald glow is restful rather than bright. Green also sits well with dark wood, brass and rich colours such as deep red or navy.
For a warm contrast, place green beside amber mosaic lamps; some green designs already carry golden and amber pieces, so the two pick up the same warm tones. Buy two lamps in any colours and each is 10% off; buy three or more and each is 15% off.
Bulb, safety and care
Green lamps arrive with their E14 LED bulbs, one per globe, so they are ready to light on the first evening. The bulb we supply is warm-coloured, and a different bulb may affect the tone of the green. LED runs at a low heat, which is gentler on the hand-set glass.
Green lamps are CE certified; the table and floor lamps come with a plug, while pendants, wall sconces and chandeliers are hardwired by an electrician. Dust the glass with a soft, dry cloth when the power is switched off, and keep moisture away. If you order before 3pm, UK delivery is free and arrives the next day.
