Why choose a Turkish mosaic floor lamp

A Turkish floor lamp does the job of a chandelier without touching the ceiling. Its globes sit at standing height, close to where you sit and talk, so the coloured patterns land on the walls around you rather than high above. You can move it from room to room, and all it needs is a socket.

Every globe is made by hand in Türkiye from natural glass, mirror tile and mosaic beads, set piece by piece, grouted and polished, then mounted on a hand-aged antique brass stand. The glass is never dyed, painted or plastic, so the light comes through soft and rich. Most of our floor lamps combine several glass designs, so each globe glows a little differently, and the arrangement can never be repeated exactly.

How many globes do you need?

The number of globes sets both the height and the presence of the lamp. Every globe is 15 cm across.

• 3 globes: 105 cm tall on a 21 cm base. Fits beside a sofa or armchair, or in a reading nook.
• 5 globes: 127 cm tall on a 27 cm base. A focal point for a living room corner.
• 7 globes: 150 cm tall on a 31 cm base. Brings real presence to a lounge or a large bedroom.
• 9 globes: 195 cm tall on a 31 cm base. The tallest piece we make, so check your ceiling height before you order.

Where to place a floor lamp

A corner is the natural home: the lamp lights two walls at once and fills a part of the room that a ceiling light often leaves dim. Beside a sofa or a reading chair, a 3-globe or 5-globe lamp gives you soft light to sit in. In a large living room or lounge, a 7-globe or 9-globe lamp becomes the centrepiece. It also suits an entrance hall, a sun room or a quiet meditation room, and in a café or boutique hotel it sets the mood of a seating area.

Bulbs, safety and care

Each globe takes an E14 bulb, and every bulb is included: one LED bulb per globe, from 3 to 9 depending on the lamp. LED runs efficiently and at a low heat, which is gentler on the hand-set glass of every globe. The bulbs are warm-coloured, and a different bulb may affect the brightness and the pattern on your walls.

Every floor lamp is CE certified and comes wired with a plug, with UK Type G, EU Schuko Type F and US Type A options. To clean, switch off and unplug, then dust each globe and the brass stand with a soft, dry cloth, steadying the globe as you go.
