Wall Lamps

A Turkish wall light puts a hand-cut mosaic globe on a hand-aged antique brass wall plate, bringing patterned light to hallways, bedsides and reading corners without taking up a table. Each sconce is made by hand in Türkiye in one of three globe sizes, with an E14 LED bulb included.

Why choose a Turkish wall light

A wall light works where a table lamp cannot: in a narrow hallway, above a bedside with no room for a lamp, or beside a favourite chair. A Turkish wall light adds something more, because the bulb shines through a globe of hand-cut natural glass, mirror tile and mosaic beads and throws its pattern straight onto the wall around it.

Each mosaic wall sconce is made by hand in Türkiye. The glass is cut into small shapes, set piece by piece, grouted and polished, then fitted to a hand-aged antique brass wall plate. The glass is natural, never dyed, painted or plastic, so the light is soft and rich, and because the pattern is set by hand, no two sconces match exactly.

How to choose a mosaic wall lamp

All three sizes share a 28 × 13 cm wall plate, so the choice comes down to the globe and how far it stands out from the wall.

  • Small: 10 cm globe, 30 cm tall, projecting 24 cm. Good for a narrow hallway or beside a mirror.
  • Medium: 12.5 cm globe, 33 cm tall, projecting 24 cm. A balanced size for a bedside or a reading corner.
  • Large: 15 cm globe, 35 cm tall, projecting 25 cm. Makes a feature of a living room wall.

Choose the colour by the mood of the room. Blue and white glass keep a bedroom calm, while amber brings a warm, golden glow to a living room or hallway. Each sconce is hardwired to a wall light point by a qualified electrician, so pick a spot with a light point in place, or ask your electrician about adding one.

Where wall lights work best

Hallways are the obvious place: a row of sconces along one wall turns a corridor into somewhere you notice. In a bedroom, a pair either side of the bed gives you light without crowding the bedside tables. A single sconce beside a reading chair or a desk in a study puts colour where you sit, and in a living room a pair either side of a mirror frames it. In a boutique hotel or lounge, wall lights give plenty of atmosphere from very little space.

Want a matching look? Many of our glass designs also come as table lamps and pendants, so a sconce can match the lamp beside it.

Bulb, safety and care

Each sconce takes an E14 bulb, and an E14 LED bulb is included, so it is ready to use when it arrives. LED runs at a low heat, which is gentler on the hand-cut glass. A different bulb may affect the brightness, colour tone and pattern on the wall.

Every sconce is CE certified and hardwired, fitted to a wall light point by a qualified electrician. For questions about your wall, chat with us; we are available 24/7. To clean, switch off the power, then dust the globe and plate with a soft, dry cloth.

Questions about wall lamps

Answers from the people who make and ship every lamp.

Does a wall sconce need an electrician?

Yes. A sconce has no plug: it is hardwired to a wall light point and should be fitted by a qualified electrician. The globe is fitted to a 28 × 13 cm hand-aged antique brass wall plate, and if you have a question about your wall, chat with us before you order.

How far does a mosaic wall sconce stand out from the wall?

The small and medium sconces project 24 cm from the wall, and the large projects 25 cm. All three use the same 28 × 13 cm wall plate, so you can mix sizes along one wall and still keep a tidy line.

What if the wall light I want is sold out?

If the design you want is sold out, leave your email on its product page and we will let you know when it is back. Sold-out sconces stay on the site, so you can still see each design and its measurements.

Which size suits a bedside?

A small or medium sconce suits most bedsides, giving a gentle pool of patterned light without the globe crowding the space. Choose large if the wall is wide or you want the light to be a feature of the room.

Which colour suits a hallway?

Amber gives a hallway a warm, golden welcome, while blue and white keep it cool and calm. Multicoloured glass throws many colours at once along a plain wall, which suits a long corridor.
