Cluster Mosaic Chandeliers

Cluster mosaic chandeliers gather 5, 7 or 13 hand-cut glass globes on one hand-aged antique brass frame, for a full, rounded burst of colour. They are also known as sultan chandeliers, and each one is handmade in Türkiye with an E14 LED bulb for every globe.

Why choose a cluster mosaic chandelier

Where a spiral lets its globes trail downward, a cluster mosaic chandelier gathers them together on one frame, so the whole piece reads as a single, generous shape. When it is lit, the globes sit close enough for their patterns to meet on the walls and ceiling. Some 13-globe pieces arrange their globes in tiers for even more depth.

Every 15 cm globe is cut and set by hand in Türkiye from natural glass, mirror tile and mosaic beads, then grouted and polished. Most cluster chandeliers combine several designs, so one piece might mix cobalt, emerald, amber and ruby globes, each with its own pattern. The frame is hand-aged antique brass, the glass is never dyed, painted or plastic, and no two clusters are ever the same.

How to choose your cluster chandelier

There are three sizes, and the right one depends on your ceiling as much as your room.

  • 5 globes: 110 cm overall height, 30 cm ceiling drop, 22 cm frame. A neat cluster for a dining room or hallway.
  • 7 globes: 95 cm overall, 30 cm drop, 30 cm frame. Wider than the 5-globe but 15 cm shorter, which makes it the one to choose under a lower ceiling.
  • 13 globes: 145 cm overall, 45 cm drop, 40 cm frame, and on some pieces the globes sit in tiers. Made for a large room with plenty of height.

Measure from your ceiling to where you want the lowest globe to sit, and compare that with the overall height. Prefer globes that cascade at different heights? Compare the spiral chandeliers. For a calmer palette, a few clusters keep to white glass, which you can find among the white mosaic lamps, and the full range sits together in mosaic chandeliers.

Where a cluster chandelier looks best

Over a dining table, a cluster becomes the focal point of the room, with colour spreading across the walls as you eat. In an entrance hall, it gives a warm welcome the moment you open the door. In a living room or sun room, it hangs as a natural centrepiece, and it suits a reading nook too. In a café, restaurant, yoga studio or boutique hotel, one cluster can set the mood of the whole room.

Buying a lamp as well? Add a single-globe lamp to any chandelier and save £10 on the lamp. Many lamps share their glass designs with chandelier globes, so the two can match.

Bulbs, safety and care

Every globe takes an E14 bulb, and every bulb is included as an LED bulb: 5, 7 or 13, one per globe. LED keeps the heat low across every globe, which helps protect the mosaic.

Each cluster chandelier is CE certified and hardwired, fitted to a ceiling light point by a qualified electrician. To clean, switch off the power, then work round the cluster with a soft, dry cloth, steadying each globe as you dust it.

Questions about cluster mosaic chandeliers

Answers from the people who make and ship every lamp.

What is a sultan chandelier?

It is another name for our cluster chandelier: a group of hand-cut mosaic globes gathered on one brass frame, sometimes in tiers on the largest pieces. Ours are made with 5, 7 or 13 globes, each 15 cm across.

Which cluster chandelier suits a lower ceiling?

The 7-globe piece. At 95 cm overall it is the shortest chandelier we make, although its 30 cm frame is wider than the 22 cm frame of the 5-globe piece.

Is the 13-globe cluster right for my room?

It suits a large room with plenty of height: it measures 145 cm overall, with a 45 cm ceiling drop and a 40 cm frame. In a smaller room, the 5-globe or 7-globe piece is easier to live with.

Do cluster chandeliers come in single colours?

Most mix colours, but a few keep to one palette, such as white, blue or clear glass, and some are warm-toned or cool-toned sets.

Does a cluster chandelier need an electrician?

Yes. A cluster has no plug: it is hardwired to a ceiling light point and should be fitted by a qualified electrician. For help checking your ceiling height, chat with us; we are available 24/7.
