Swan Neck Mosaic Table Lamps

Swan neck table lamps hang a hand-cut mosaic globe from a curved neck of hand-aged antique brass, in small, medium and large sizes. The hanging globe throws its pattern onto the surfaces around it, and every lamp is handmade in Türkiye with an E14 LED bulb included.

What makes a swan neck mosaic lamp different

On most table lamps the shade sits on top of the base. On a swan neck mosaic lamp, the brass neck rises and curves over, and the globe hangs free beneath it. You can see the globe from every side, so the pattern is never hidden behind a base, and when the lamp is lit it throws that pattern onto the surfaces around it.

The craft is the same as every lamp we make. In Türkiye, artisans hand-cut natural glass into small diamonds and triangles and set each piece and bead on the globe by hand, then grout and polish it. The globe hangs from a neck of hand-aged antique brass, and before it is boxed, every lamp is wired, fitted with its LED bulb and switched on to check. No two are alike, and the glass is never dyed, painted or plastic.

Choosing your swan neck lamp

There are three globe sizes. The width to plan for is the top width/projection given in each specification.

  • Small: 10 cm globe, 37 cm tall, 11 cm base, top width/projection 18 cm. Neat on a narrow bedside table or a shelf.
  • Medium: 12.5 cm globe, 41 cm tall, 14 cm base, top width/projection 24 cm. The all-rounder for most rooms.
  • Large: 15 cm globe, 43 cm tall, 14 cm base, top width/projection 24 cm. The tallest of our table lamps, for a console or a wide bedside table.

Then choose the glass. Warm amber and multicoloured designs suit living rooms, while blue mosaic lamps and pink mosaic lamps bring a calmer or softer mood to a bedroom. If you need something more upright and compact, compare the classic table lamps.

Where a swan neck lamp looks best

The bedside is its natural home: the hanging globe gives a gentle glow close by as you read, and a matching pair either side of the bed looks considered. On a living room console or sideboard, it adds colour beside you in the evening. In a reading nook, a meditation corner or a salon, its curve brings a softer line than an upright lamp. It also works in a boutique hotel lobby, where the globe is seen from every angle.

A pair is the classic way to use them, and two lamps save 10% each, while three or more save 15% each, in any designs. Mix two designs in the same colour for a pair that matches without being identical.

Bulb, safety and care

Every swan neck lamp takes an E14 bulb, and an E14 LED bulb is included, so it is ready to plug in the day it arrives. LED gives an efficient, low-heat glow that helps protect the globe. Each lamp is CE certified and comes wired with a plug, with UK Type G, EU Schuko Type F and US Type A options.

To clean, switch off and unplug, then dust the globe and neck with a soft, dry cloth, supporting the hanging globe as you go.

Questions about swan neck mosaic table lamps

Answers from the people who make and ship every lamp.

How much space does a swan neck lamp need?

Plan for the top width/projection given in the specification: 18 cm on the small lamp and 24 cm on the medium and large. The bases are 11 cm, 14 cm and 14 cm across.

Which size swan neck lamp suits a bedside table?

Small or medium suits most bedside tables: the small lamp is 37 cm tall and the medium 41 cm. Choose the large lamp, 43 cm tall with a 15 cm globe, for a wide bedside table or a console.

Swan neck or classic: which should I choose?

Choose a swan neck if you want the globe to hang free from a curved brass neck. Choose a classic lamp if space is tight: it sets the globe directly on its base and stands 33 to 37 cm tall.

Do swan neck designs come in other styles?

Many do. The same glass designs often appear as classic table lamps, pendants and wall sconces, so you can carry one pattern from the bedside to the ceiling.

Can I buy a matching pair for my bedside tables?

Yes. Two lamps save 10% each, with no code needed. Because every globe is set by hand, a pair in the same design will match in colour and style, with small differences in the exact pattern.
